Product details
Hypex UcD400 2x200W Stereo Kit
The UcD technology is a high performance and reliable amplifier technology. The UcD amplifier modules stand out in our amplifier modules category, due to their unique circuit topology. They have a flat frequency response irrespective of load impedance, nearly frequency-independent distortion behavior and very low radiated and conducted EMI.
This kit contains everything you need to build your own UcD stereo amplifier. The main parts for this kit are two UcD400HG HxR amplifier modules, SMPS400A400 power supply and a black anodized aluminum case. The amplifier modules and power supply combination enable high and reliable performance from the UcD technology. The black anodized case provides good heat dissipation, protection and a small form factor.
Along the main parts, this kit includes everything else you need to build a powerful high-quality monoblock amplifier. Assembly is easy and only requires proper positioning of the modules, bolts to be tightened and connectors to be clicked. Anybody comfortable with a screwdriver can build this amazing stereo amplifier.

FAQ
Q: I noticed the UcD180HG kit is (with 180 WPC) just a bit less powerful, why should I go for this UcD400 kit?
A: The UcD180 kit and UcD400 kit both use a 400 watt power supply. The two amplifier channels need to source from the same supply. If they have equal demands simultaneously, each module will indeed be limited to half of the power supply’s maximum capabilities. This results in a maximum output of 200 watt per channel. Because it is unlikely that both channels demand equal power at the same time -especially in active / bi-amp applications- The UcD400 kit has more headroom. More importantly: The UcD400HG HxR modules show better distortion performance overall compared to the UcD180HG HxR. Besides, because they are operated way below their limit their performance is even better.
